Polypyrrole nanostructures modified with mono- and bimetallic nanoparticles for photocatalytic H2 generation

Xiaojiao Yuan, Diana Dragoe, Patricia Beaunier, Daniel Bahena Uribe, Laurence Ramos, Maria Guadalupe Méndez-Medrano, Hynd Remita

Conjugated polymer polypyrrole nanostructures modified with bimetallic (Pt–Ni) nanoparticles are very active for hydrogen generation and a synergetic effect is obtained by alloying Pt with Ni.

A comparative study of alanine adsorption and condensation to peptides in two clay minerals

Fabrícia de Castro Silva, Luciano Clécio Brandão Lima, Edson Silva-Filho, Maria Gardennia Fonseca, Jean-François Lambert, Maguy Jaber

The polycondensation of amino acids to oligopeptides is an important step in the origins of life, and known to be effective on several mineral surfaces. The data available on clay mineral surfaces are heterogeneous and sometimes contradictory, however. The objective of the present work is to…

On the origin of the changes in color of Ag/Al2O3 catalysts during storage

Tesnim Chaieb, Dalil Brouri, Sandra Casale, Jean-Marc Krafft, Tiago da Silva, Cyril Thomas, Laurent Delannoy, Catherine Louis

Despite the large number of catalytic studies involving Ag/Al2O3 catalysts, especially in deNOx reactions, the phenomenon of ageing observed during catalysts storage after preparation by impregnation followed by a calcination treatment, has not been reported earlier and rises questions. The present…

Bioactive peptides grafted silicone dressings: A simple and specific method

Coline Pinese, Said Jebors, Pierre-Emmanuel Stoebner, Vincent Humblot, Pascal Verdié, Léa Causse, Xavier Garric, Hubert Taillades, Jean Martinez, Ahmad Mehdi, Gilles Subra

The need for bioactive dressings increases with the population aging and the prevalence of chronic diseases. In contrast, there are very few dressings on the market which are designed to display a chosen bioactivity. In this context, we investigated the surface-functionalization of silicone wound…
